Health and fitness are integral to Jackie’s lifestyle, and she strongly believes in balance for long-term success.
Jackie was born and raised in Marin County. With a degree in Marine Mammalogy and a former career as a dolphin and sea lion trainer, her passion for movement, health, and the natural world has shaped her approach to wellness from the very beginning.
A lifelong athlete, Jackie grew up swimming and diving competitively, which developed an appreciation for strength, discipline, and what the human body is capable of. After teaching group fitness and kickboxing for many years, Jackie got her personal training certification in 2010.
Jackie helps clients of all ages build strength, improve mobility, optimize nutrition, and create sustainable habits that support long-term health and vitality. Her philosophy extends far beyond exercise. Jackie believes wellness is built through the small things we do every day-eating minimally processed foods, spending time outdoors, soaking up sunshine, moving often, sleeping well, managing stress, and staying connected to nature.
Jackie met her husband, Scott, while training at the Bay Club, and together they went on to found Iron + Salt Fitness in 2020. They now have two children and fully understand the challenges of balancing health and wellness with the demands of everyday life. Jackie has a deep passion for helping women thrive during pregnancy and regain strength, confidence, and vitality after birth.
Whether she's helping a client gain strength for the first time, stay active as they age, or improve their overall well-being, her goal is always the same: to help people feel strong, capable, and energized for the life they want to live.

Born and raised in the East Bay, Scott grew up playing lacrosse, hockey, soccer, and football.
Even while playing sports year-round, he struggled with his weight, which sparked a lifelong interest in health, fitness, and nutrition.
Scott earned his degree from Sonoma State University, where he discovered his passion for helping others build strength, confidence, and healthier lifestyles. While there, he helped expand the university's strength and conditioning program, working alongside students, faculty, and athletic teams.
After graduating, Scott joined Bay Club Marin, where he spent more than a decade working with one-on-one clients, leading group fitness classes and boot camps, coaching high school strength programs and lacrosse, and helping hundreds of people reach their goals.
It was also at Bay Club that he met his wife and fitness partner, Jackie. Together, they founded Iron and Salt Fitness in 2020.
Today, Scott specializes in creating personalized strength and fitness programs that are both effective and enjoyable. Every workout is thoughtfully designed, tracked, and progressed to meet each client's individual goals while keeping training fresh, challenging, and motivating. His mission is to help people build lasting strength, improve their health, and enjoy the process along the way.

As a California native, Stephanie's weight loss journey began in 2019 when she weighed 250 pounds after having her first daughter. Through unwavering dedication and hard work, she was able to shed those extra pounds. This transformation has been incredibly rewarding, both physically and mentally. Stephanie is proud of the progress she has made and the healthy habits she has cultivated. Her journey serves as a testament to the power of perseverance and a reminder that with the right mindset, anything is possible.

Hi, I'm Mike Ruiz!
My journey into fitness began as a teenager, when I was underweight and deconditioned. This sparked a desire to learn more about overall health, wellness, and fitness. I delved deeper into the science behind exercise, ultimately deciding to pursue a degree in kinesiology at San Francisco State University.
I began working as an independent trainer as well as training clients at both Bay Club San Francisco and Marin County beginning in 2003. l've helped numerous individuals achieve their fitness goals. l've had the privilege of working with many different populations from older adults to young teens .
My own children have participated in numerous sports programs (swimming, wrestling, track, and water polo) throughout their school years. I’ve enjoyed being a part of every step along the way, including coaching. l've developed an understanding of how to tailor training methods to meet the needs of younger athletes seeking to improve their athletic performance and overall goals.
