Health and fitness are integral to Jackie’s lifestyle. She believes in balance for long-term success, embracing daily movement and clean eating while also enjoying dessert. As a parent, Jackie is excited to teach her children the importance of a healthy lifestyle.
Born and raised in Marin County, Jackie spent most of her childhood in the water, engaging in competitive swimming, springboard diving, and surfing. Her passion for the coast led her to California State University Monterey Bay, where she earned a degree in Marine Mammalogy. She began her career in marine mammal training, working at renowned places such as Sea World, The Navy Marine Mammal Program, and Moss Landing Marine Labs.
While working with animals, Jackie discovered a love for fitness, especially kickboxing. Teaching classes inspired her to pursue a personal training certification. She got her certification in 2010, and realizing her true calling, she left the marine mammal industry to focus on personal training and group fitness. She met her husband, Scott while training at the Bay Club. Together, they have two children and created Iron and Salt Fitness in 2020.

Hi, I'm Mike Ruiz!
My journey into fitness began as a teenager, when I was underweight and deconditioned. This sparked a desire to learn more about overall health, wellness, and fitness. I delved deeper into the science behind exercise, ultimately deciding to pursue a degree in kinesiology at San Francisco State University.
I began working as an independent trainer as well as training clients at both Bay Club San Francisco and Marin County beginning in 2003. l've helped numerous individuals achieve their fitness goals. l've had the privilege of working with many different populations from older adults to young teens .
My own children have participated in numerous sports programs (swimming, wrestling, track, and water polo) throughout their school years. I’ve enjoyed being a part of every step along the way, including coaching. l've developed an understanding of how to tailor training methods to meet the needs of younger athletes seeking to improve their athletic performance and overall goals.
Whether you're eager to spend quality time with you're grandchildren, enjoy long vacations without fatigue, Lose body fat and gain muscle mass, or simply enjoy life without pain, I can help! By creating customized programs that address your specific needs and objectives, I'll provide the support and guidance necessary for you to succeed and enjoy your life to the fullest.
